Publishing books with simonthescribe is easy

ublishing a book is a lot easier than it used to be. It can be heartbreaking to approach traditional publishers with your book to have it rejected over and over again. Believe me - I know that one first hand! Many publishers work through publishing agents who don't seem to want to know you unless you are already earning considerable amounts through your writing.

But self-publishing is changing the industry - these days anyone who can handle the technology can publish their own book - in print or in digital output. If you have a book you want published - but can't find your way through the technology - I am here to assist you to self-publish your book.

The process for publishing your book here at simonthescribe is:

    • we agree on a rough estimate for your project based on your description
    • you send me your proof-read .doc files and any illustrations for the book
    • you send me your ideas for a cover
    • I give you a full written estimate
    • if you accept this you pay a deposit of 50% of estimate
    • I send you digital drafts of the layout and cover image drafts
    • when you like these (signed-off copy) I publish the book for you and send you a print proof of the book
    • you make any corrections, if needed, return the copy and I republish the book for you to order online
    • when you are happy you complete the payment

Easy peasy and my prices start at £300 for a basic book layout and cover design and first print proof!

n ancient matrix of energy lies hidden in the earth, its existence and purpose all but forgotten. One strand, named The Dragon Line passes through Cornwall, a land steeped in history and mystery since the dawn of time. Here the line passes through the valley of the River Fowey.

A lone ghost, abandoned in the valley of his birth, tells how the line of energy has been usurped, unbalancing the whole planetary energy matrix. In The Lily, the first novel of an extraordinary trilogy, we share his lives as he tells his tale of 2000 years in the Fowey valley. He sets a crucial task, to mend the Dragon Line and restore the balance of power, before time itself runs out.

Confucius and ChristWays of Confucius and of Christ by Dom Pierre Celestin

diplomat abandons his career to enter a religious community. When this happens it is commonly felt that he has made a break with his past. When the diplomat is a Chinese Foreign Minister and the community a Benedictine abbey in Belgium, the contrast is all the more startling.

But here Dom Lou sets out to show that his life preserves an essential unity, just as the natural order precedes and leads up to the supernatural, so he has been led from the ways of Confucius to those of Christianity and finally to the Catholic Church and monastic life.

or many years we tried to encourage Dad to put his memories on tape for posterity and eventually with a Christmas present of a Dictaphone these memories came about.

Please read on for the memories of a man who experienced life as a choirboy in Coventry Cathedral, an army officer in the Second World War, an active participant in D-day, an adjutant in a prisoner of war camp for the Germans, a programmer for one of the first computers used commercially and a romantic man in a long and happy marriage. In loving memory.
